pilon
My object is a Pilon. This is from Dominican Republic, it’s used to make food. My great grandmother made this then she passed it down to my grandmother, who passed passed it down to my mom. This object is made of pure wood, my grandmother made the shape of it with rusty metal and other tools. It also has another piece that looks like a hammer. This object is important to me because not only does it makes my favorite food but will soon be handed down to me. The Pilon was first used by the taino indians, who were the first people to live in Dominican Republic. My mom came here with the object in 2009 when she immigrated. If my great grandmother was still alive i’d ask her did it take a long time to make this? If so how long did it take? Also how’d you shape it?
