Jamanaz
My object is the Janamaz. It is a praying mat that my grandma prays on ever since she came to America. The Janamaz came from my country Bangladesh. The Janamaz is made out of cotton and silk fabric. She brought this Janamaz because she wanted have this memento of her life. If the Janamaz is very precious to her then it is very precious to me.The main reason I chose this object is because my grandma brought it when she came here, and it is older than 64 years old. The thing it teaches about my culture is that it proves that we are Muslims and we Muslims believe in Islam so we pray on it everyday. My mom is connected to this because my grandma gave the Janamaz to my mom (her daughter). My grandma came to the United States on March 9, 1950.There is this a few questions I want to ask you grandma. Where did you get the Janamaz from? And did someone give you the Janamaz, or did you get it yourself? That is what my object is and how it really is important to me. Grandma you are amazing!
