Barbados Money
My object is money. My object is money from Barbados. My money is different than the way the American dollar works. The coins are made out of copper. The money is made out of paper. The dollar has been the currency of Barbados since 1935. For every two dollars in Barbados money, it is equal to one dollar in U.S money. The Barbados dollar replaced the East Caribbean dollar in 1973. The man on the two dollar bill was very important to Barbados. His name is John Redman Bovell. He is on the two dollar bill because he was able to grow the sugar canes. My Barbadian money is very important to me because it reminds me of when I go to Barbados. When I look at my money I remember Barbados and the tropical beaches that I go to every year. My maternal grandmother was born in Barbados and came here in the mid 1970’s. She always took my mother to her island to vacation. So, when my other grew up and had me she began taking me to her island. So, because of this i have lots of love for Barbados.
