Thob
My object is a Thob. My object is from Palestine. The part of Palestine that I am from is Ramallah
A Thob is a traditional dress. Before the wedding there is a party. During the party is when one would wear your Thob. Thobs come in a variety of colors and patterns. My thob is black and red yarn that decorates the edges.
Most throbs are long sleeved. It is traditional to cover their hair, arms and legs of women during these parties and ceremonies. Men are not allowed to see the beauty of a woman until one gets married. Once they are married, the hair can be exposed to her husband. Other family members are allowed to see a woman’s hair once she is married.
My throb is important to me because it reminds me of my culture and where my family is from.
