The Rocking Chair
I always knew that the rocking chair in my basement was special, but I never wondered on the history about it. It all started in Ireland where it was made. The rocking chair is dark brown and has tan braided wicker on the seat of it.It was made around the 16th or 17th century, and it was given to my great aunt as a gift from her mom when she was little. Sadly, my great aunt died from the flu when she was only 5 years old. The rocking chair was then passed down to my grandma when she was little. One day my grandma thought about the old rocking chair, and she decided to give it to me when I was a baby. People say my great aunt looked a lot like me we both had blond hair and blue eyes and that she was very sweet. I still have the rocking chair and it’s very special to me because it was made in Ireland and I’m Irish. My great grandma was Irish too and so is my dad. My dad would call me a little Irish baby when I was 2 years old to 4 years old because I had curly red hair and very pale skin. The rocking chair is apart of who I am. Irish.
