Roshgolla

My object or cultural food is called a white sweet. Or in Bengali it’s called a roshongolla [RUSH-en-golla]. The roshongolla is from Bangladesh. My mom makes it for special occasions or just because we want to eat it. It’s white and made into a ball.. It’s made with milk, sugar, sometimes lemon juice and more. Over all it’s sweet and delicious. This recipe has been in our family for long time.  The reason why I chose the roshongolla is because my mom makes them in a very special way that in one bite  you want more and more. It started with my great grandmother who taught my grandmother who my mom's’ sisters and her and so on. What this teaches me about my culture is that the Bengali’s were the ones who made this sweet and you can make it in different ways. This is connected to my mom's side and my dad’s side. They both make it in similar ways. They immigrated on April 9, 1999. I am proud of the sweet my ancestors/culture had made.
