Pair of Earrings
An object that is very important to me and carries strong meaning is this pair of earrings that my father gave to me when I was three years old. My father traveled to New York to look for a better future for my sisters and me. He told my mother that he was going to give me these earrings because he wanted me to remember that day and the history of why he came to the United States. Now 29 years later I still have the earrings and they mean a lot to me because they remind me how my father always tried to give his children a better future. I always remember my roots, how my parents raised me in a simple and humble way always trying to give the best of them so that we are good people for the society, and how it was that I was able to reach this country looking for a dream and a better future.
