Molcajete
My object that represents my family and culture is a bowl called a molcajete. The molcajete is used in cooking. You may have seen it in a Mexican restaurant making guacamole. In Mexico, people use the molcajete to cook almost daily to make it for either special events like (weddings, holidays and special occasions), or just cook daily meals. My mom got this when she went to Mexico to visit my grandma. She brought it back for the family to use, and it reminds me of Mexico and of my extended family. The molcajete is made out of stone. Stone is hard. It can smoosh hard things like an apples, avocados and much more.A salsa my mom does in a molcajete is my favorite. Here is the recipe she uses:● Toasted tomatoes, toasted peppers toasted garlic This object is important to my family because my mom uses it to make different kinds of Mexican food, and it important because it reminds me of Mexico and our Mexican heritage, and I hope you get a chance to try out some salsa on your own.
