Grandpa's Blankets
The object I chose were my grandpa’s blankets. They are smooth silk and cotton fresh smelling blankets from India. Out of the three, one is dark blue with orange and green flowers and blue tassels, one is white with lacy golden-yellow design and yellow tassels, and one is red with pale yellow diagonal lines sewed in and purple and white checkerboard stripes on the outside with red tassels. These blankets are very precious to our family so we don’t use these blankets at night because we don’t want anything bad to happen to them. The object was given to my dad by my late grandpa, Dada. The object is important to me because me because my grandpa passed away when I was two and I don’t really remember him and my dad grew up in India and we don’t get to go there much because the flights are expensive for five people but Indian culture is still a big part of our lives and the blankets kind of make it seem like my grandpa and a part of India is here with us.
