Chiquihuite or Tenate
My object is called a Chiquihuite (Chee keweete)or called a Tenate. My object comes from the country of Mexico. My Dad immigrated to America in the year 1997. While my mom immigrated to America in the year 2002. The Tenate is used for to put tortillas in it because they are really hot and need to be cooled down in a Tenate. It is a fancy place for the tortillas to cool down in the Tenate. My family and I use the Tenate when we eat Tortillas we make sure the Tortillas cook and they really cook! because they are hot we put the Tortillas in the Tenate. I chose this object because it reminds me of my lovely grandma (mom’s mom) so much and I thought about her and got this object from her.I never knew my grandma can be so creative. My grandma makes this object out of palm.My grandma made a Tenate for me and my mom which was really big, and on for me it was small. This object is important to me because it reminds me about my grandma and I making one tenate in Mexico. My grandma uses the Tenate everyday sometimes me and my family use the Tenate sometimes. This object is connected to my grandma because she makes the Tenate from Mexico and sends it to USA she is a very nice loving grandma. My grandma wanted to come to USA and find a job when she was young she can’t anymore she says. Dear Grandma, No matter if you're in Mexico and I’m in USA, I am still going to love you even though we are far apart.Thank you for showing me about the Tenate. I love you!
