chiquihuite
My object is a chiquihuite (it’s something that is used when you bake tortillas and you put it on the chiquihuite to hold the tortilla’s together). The chiquihuite is from Puebla, Mexico. The chiquihuite is used after you bake tortillas, then you put the tortilla’s on the chiquihuite so it can hold it together. My mom is the only one in the family who uses the chiquihuite. The chiquihuite is made out of peach straw, with purple straw going diagonally (which is painted). The chiquihuite teaches my culture that if you put the tortilla’s on the chiquihuite it will bless your family. The chiquihuite is connected to my mom and every other adult in my mom’s family. My mom and dad are the ones who immigrated to the U.S .
