Chinese Poster
My object is a poster with some Chinese characters on it. It is made in China which is both of my parents’ country. This was made from a old fashioned ink pen and some parchment or something. My dad told me about this object first but it’s REALLY hard to miss because it’s on the wall on the stairwell leading to our bedrooms. It’s pretty big. I guess it is around 5-6 feet tall. The paper it’s on is yellow-ish and it is green on the outside. It is the name of a song that symbolizes happiness. The actual song name is “Golden Snake Dancing” and is supposed to be a energetic song.
This is important to us because it was a gift from my dad’s friend and comes from China. This is not used on any special occasions or anything as it is a poster.
It connects to my family because it is a special Chinese writing style used in ancient times. It represents me because I'm Chinese. My dad grew up in China and his parents have lived in China their whole life. His friends also have always been living in China. We also speak Chinese sometimes at home and my grandma doesn't understand English so I have to speak Chinese.
